Who We Serve:

Finding the Right Fit Matters

Heritage Academy at Jubilation Farms exists to serve children and families who are seeking a more humane, meaningful, and grounded approach to learning.Because we are a small, relationship-centered, farm-based microschool, fit matters deeply—for students, families, teachers, and the animals in our care.We believe clarity is an act of kindness. This page is designed to help families discern whether Heritage Academy is the right place for their child.

We Are a Strong Fit for Children Who...

Heritage Academy is especially well-suited for children who:

  • Are misaligned with traditional school environments, even if they are capable and curious

  • Learn best through hands-on, project-based, and experiential learning

  • Benefit from small group settings and strong relationships with teachers

  • Are rebuilding confidence, curiosity, or joy in learning

  • May be creative, thoughtful, sensitive, or divergent thinkers

  • Are able to participate in a shared learning environment with growing independence

  • Can engage respectfully with peers, adults, and animals

Many of our students come from public schools, private schools, or homeschooling backgrounds and are seeking a place where learning feels magical again.

What Our Program is Designed to Provide...

Heritage Academy offers:

  • A mastery-based homeschool partnership

  • Strong foundations in written and spoken communication, thinking, and responsibility

  • Project-based learning connected to real life and meaningful work

  • A farm-based environment that supports regulation, confidence, and contribution

  • Clear expectations paired with patience and care

We are committed to helping children grow—not by rushing them, but by meeting them honestly where they are.

Important Boundaries:
Who We Are Not the Right Fit For

As much as we care about children and families, Heritage Academy is not able to meet every need.

Our program is not a good fit for students who:

  • Require constant 1:1 adult support to function in a group setting

  • Have severe behavioral challenges that compromise safety and learning

  • Need intensive therapeutic, clinical, or special-education services

  • Show ongoing aggression toward peers, adults, or animals

  • Are unable to participate in age-appropriate responsibilities or expectations

  • Have a significant fear of animals or refuse farm participation

We are not a therapeutic program, and the farm environment—while supportive—is not a substitute for intervention or treatment.

Farm Safety is Non-Negotiable

Because Heritage Academy is located on a real working farm, students are regularly around farm tools, potential farm-related hazards, animals, and are expected to interact within the farm safely and respectfully.

Children who:

  • have a genuine fear of animals

  • refuse farm chores consistently

  • or are unable to tolerate outdoor, hands-on work

are not a suitable fit for our program.

For the safety and well-being of our animals and students, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe or aggressive behavior toward animals.

We ask families to be honest about their child’s fears, sensitivities, and current abilities when considering enrollment.

A Partnership, Not a Replacement

We understand that many families come to Heritage Academy after difficult or painful educational experiences. We hold that reality with care.

At the same time, Heritage Academy is not designed to “fix” everything for a child or family. We work best when there is shared responsibility, honesty, and partnership.

We support your role as the primary educator for your child and expect families to continue in that capacity. As a part-time educational program, we are not designed to carry the full weight or responsibility of educating your child.

When expectations are aligned, children thrive.

Our Heart

We are deeply committed to:

  • protecting children’s dignity

  • honoring families

  • safeguarding our teachers

  • caring well for our animals

  • and sustaining a learning environment rooted in truth and compassion

Choosing the right environment matters. We invite families to take time, ask questions, and discern thoughtfully.

If Heritage Academy is the right fit, we would be honored to walk alongside your family.
